Act 8:18-20 “Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on
of the apostles hands, he offered them money, saying, Give this authority to me as well, so that
everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit. But Peter said to him, May your
silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!”
Join us today in praying as David did in Psalm 139:23-24:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if
there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” You know us best, God,
and you know exactly what we need even before we know we need it. There is nothing we can
do to earn your love or your favor. In fact you love us just the way we are, and you love us too
much to let us stay that way.
